July 2020: More Music!

Hey everyone, it’s July, and that means it’s time for an update.
As has become tradition, Mondo and Tim have been working on new songs with mysterious single word titles, titles such as:
Relief
Intrigue
Resolve
Once A City Now Maybe a Theme
This is the One I Was Thinking for Setsuna
There's more to come soon, but for now here's a sample of Intrigue:
Actually, now that I think about it I think we might have moved away from single word titles. Bonus points if you can figure out what “ARoOYEMSTS” stands for. It’s currently in HRP, and yes that is an acronym.
We’re still mostly focusing on music right now, as we don’t want to have to keep jumping back and forth, and part of Asset Based Development™ is to make sure asset classes are finished to make sure scope doesn’t unreasonably expand. However, since Jaspirian isn’t the one writing music, he has still been focused on cleaning up writing, and maybe even submitting a salacious new art request for Hitomi…
Thank you all for sticking around, and stay cool in this hot summer.
Back Up to Speed

Hey everyone,
Our apologies for the delay. Things are still crazy out there, but we've gotten ourselves back into a general working state, and it's more or less business as usual once again for the HRP team. Our asset creation is back running smoothly, and this month we've got a good selection of new music to show you. It’s June, and that means it’s summer. What better to go with summer than new songs with titles like:
Confrontation
Solitude (not in E Minor)
And most creatively:
Kojo’s theme
Ironically, we could probably make Kojo’s Theme contain both of the above songs and we’d end up recreating the main plot in music form. Unfortunately, Human Reignition Project is not a musical, so we’ll just have to settle for this in-engine screenshot for the time being:
There's plenty of other exciting things in the works for us here at Alienworks, and we're excited to share them as soon as we can. But for now, thanks for continuing to follow our project, and as always, stay cool.
May 2020: The Real World's Still a Mess

Hey everyone,
Unfortunately, we do not have much of anything to report for this month. Between the general state of the world and some unfortunate computer breakdowns (which have fortunately been fixed), nothing especially worth showing has been finished just yet for this month. We didn’t want to go without an update and stay silent, but thanks to general complications from the Coronavirus we don't have anything exciting this time. On the plus side, everyone from the team is still doing fine and we're working on getting things back up and running.
In the meantime, we’re still chilling in the AlienWorks discord, which thanks to our very own futuristic phones is still running smoothly. We’ve more or less become a de facto “How to live and work in Japan as a gaijin” advice forum, so come on down if that’s something that interests you. We have all the ground floor (mostly mundane) information that no one else is talking about, so if you want real up-to-date information, the AlienWorks discord is, for whatever reason, the place to be.
As always, thank you for your continued patience. Things are tough right now for everyone worldwide, but we're doing our best to get things back up and running and I'm sure we'll have something impressive for next month.
HRP Update: April 2020

Hey backers! Since March, quite a bit has happened in both HRP and the real world.
In keeping with our tradition of being narrowly correct with our near future predictions, we realized that our plot needed some event to justify near-future society being as terrible and isolated as it currently is written. We didn’t think our real world necessity to make this plot point happen would actually come true. Sorry about that.
Overall, things have been continuing as before, with a continued focus on finishing all of the remaining sound elements. In terms of music, Mondo has been writing some future bass stuff, and a very intense piece that was supposedly so intense that it would destroy your heart…
...or at least that’s what we were told by Mondo. Cubase kept crashing on that song, so what we have is not the greatest song in the world, it is merely a tribute.
What we do have for you, is ART… sort of.
You see, when Mondo isn’t writing tributes to the greatest song ever written, he is an accomplished oil painter. These paintings occasionally appear in the backgrounds of HRP, and now they can appear in your copy of Animal Crossing:
We hope this fine art makes your days just a little nicer. Thank you for your continued waiting, and stay safe out there.
The Human Reignition Project: Marching Forward
over 4 years ago
– Tue, Mar 03, 2020 at 02:23:53 AM
February has outstayed its welcome and tried holding on for one more day, but we are finally into March, and that means a new monthly update. Though there's nothing incredibly important to report just yet, progress is moving smoothly across the board.
Mondo has continued working on music, and has left no avenue unexplored for musical inspiration:
Remember, we’re not done looking for insightful and well constructed feedback from fans like you see above. If you want to get in on the brainstorming, you can still join the AlienWorks Discord right now by following this link: https://discord.gg/Jrf9w86
On the other side of things, Jasper has been taking a look at our writing and making sure Ken has a real reason to join the Human Reignition Project and stay there. While I have personally made most of my friends by being bullied into participating in social events (read: school), apparently readers don’t find that to be a convincing motivation for the plot, so we’re shuffling things around a bit. In AlienWorks tradition, this means we now have to redo parts of Setsuna’s introduction. This is now the sixth time this has happened.
Finally, Myuto has been working on tightening up expressions on our pre-existing sprites. Hitomi is now at least 30% more smug than before:
As always, thank you for your patronage. We appreciate you sticking around and waiting for us to make HRP as good as it can possibly be. More news coming soon!
